OUR FOUNDER’S STORY
Curious more about the “crazy lady” who created this company? Below is a recent podcast with Shannon and her husband detailing the Awakening she went through in the Spring/Summer of 2025. Prior to her breakdown, Shannon led what seemed like the “normal” life of a Type-A overachieving woman who wanted to accomplish big things in life.
Shannon’s 25 year professional career had been spent in male-dominated industries - investment banking, trading floors, hedge funds, wealth management, and ultimately as the CEO of a venture-backed fintech start-up (Financial Gym). Throughout her career, she relished in her ability to navigate rooms where she was frequently the only woman and found ways to succeed in each company she worked for despite constant attacks and threats from her male colleagues. Shannon never wanted to take from someone else, she always ascribed to the saying “the rising tide lifts all ships.”
For 25 years, Shannon experienced very little work-life balance. Anyone who knew her would say work always had the largest slice of the pie, then family, then friends and whatever was left (not much) went to Shannon. Any challenges, trauma or difficulty she faced, she chalked up to life experiences that only made her stronger. She was thankful for the opportunities she was provided and the people around her.
On March 15, 2025, the Universe decided it was time to shake up Shannon’s world and knock her off her feet. At 47, it was as if Shannon didn’t even know who she was anymore. Almost overnight, a large part of her life was taken from her - the company she founded, the employees she supported, the people she called friends and the family she thought had her back. She was literally left to recover with only her husband, Vinnie, and her son, Will, by her side. By the grace of God, and with their loving support, she found her way deep into her soul and uncovered (revived if you will) the beginnings of the woman she was always meant to be.
Shannon is not ashamed of her story, she just doesn’t want to see another woman end up like her - being taken out of her home, pantsless, in handcuffs. Women need more life-work balance and not the other way around. We need to put our face masks on first and not take the scraps of what’s left of the day. Focusing on wellness is the ultimate act of self-love and compassion and it’s this type of focus that not only heals individual women but will ultimately heal our world.
